Getting Closer!

In 44 days I'll be getting on an airplane headed for Nassau in the Bahamas. A few days later on February 4th I'll be embarking on the adventure of a liftetime! I'll be boarding the ship MV Explorer with 600+ other college students, teachers, and also nobel peace prize winner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, together we'll sail around the world. We'll be visiting 10 different countries spread across 4 continents over the period of 100 days. On here I'll be documenting my journey for my friends, family, whoever else is interested and for myself. This is my story.

Yep that's right, I get to take classes while I'm on a ship!! I'll be taking a total of 12 credit hours and it's on the usual block schedule (A and B days). The classes that I'll be taking are:

Global Studies (required)
Intro to World Music
Intro to International Relations
Intro to World Religions

Our itinerary is as follows:

February 4th - May 14th

Nassau, Bahamas
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Salvador, Brazil
Cape Town, South Africa
Port Louis, Mauritius
Chennai, India
Penang, Malaysia
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Hong Kong
Qingdao, China
Kobe, Japan
Honolulu, Hawaii
San Diego, California

I'll try and keep this updated as much as possible while I'm gone, but I have a limited amount of internet time on the ship and once I use that up I have to pay for my internet useage, so I'm not really sure how often I'll be able to update this, maybe once a week or so. After I update this page every time I will send an e-mail out to my list of people who wish to recieve it. If you're not on this e-mail list and want to be on it or you just want to send me an e-mail while I'm gone you can send me an e-mail at: jlissy1987@gmail.com
